Visits and tastings are temporarily suspended due to the renovation and expansion works of the winery.
However we’re available for the purchase of our products, from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
The wines, the olive oil and honey
We will be happy to guide you in the tasting of our award-winning Wines, of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the farm pure natural Honey.
Advance booking is required. Choose different formulas:
– wine only: an exclusive guided tasting to discover Petrolo awarded wines,
– wine & cutting board: match a selection of local food specialities during a guided tasting of our wines,
– wine & cutting board with natural and historical landmarks: this full wine experience will combine best wines & a tasty platter with an exclusive visit to the ancient watchtower of Galatrona, landmark of Petrolo, its magnificent panoramic views, organic vineyards and we could add the historical Church of San Giovanni in Galatrona, for lovers of Renaissance art and sculpture.
Our Land: the Tower and the Pieve of Galatrona
From the top of the Tower of Galatrona with its incredible panorama you can admire the vineyards and the terraced olive groves of Petrolo, the Chianti woods and the Vald’Arno di Sopra DOC area as far as the Pratomagno mountains.
The Pieve di Galatrona, originally a Paleochristian Church on the ancient Cassa Adrianea of significant importance for the area, today is a charming country church that contains precious Renaissance artworks in enameled terracotta by Giovanni Della Robbia: the 15th century statue of Saint John the baptist, the baptisimal font and tabernacle.
